Dumpsters are coming November 22nd: they will arrive between 7am and 8am and when they are full they will be gone (usually before noon). There will be two dumpsters — previously they have been located on Hillside Avenue and near Maryland & Marburth Avenues.
We need volunteers to watch the dumpsters, our Association will be billed if there is any non-allowed material in the dumpsters (see list below). Please email Mary Carol Bruff with a time slot you would like. c_bruff08@comcast.net
Disallowed Items for the Dumpster
For Community and Non-profit Organization Clean-ups
Prohibited Items
- Explosive or flammable materials
- Acids, caustics, pesticides, chemicals
- Medical/radioactive waste
- Liquids or liquid waste
- Drums or tanks (unless clean and cut in half)
- Animal carcasses
- Large stumps
- Wood/logs greater than 8″ in diameter and 6′ in length
- Most large items that cannot be lifted manually
- Metal items
- Refrigerators/air conditioners/freezers/appliances with freon
- Tires (Passenger car, motorcycle, and light truck tires, clean, and off the rims)
- Household electronics
- Antifreeze
- Asbestos shingles (or other asbestos materials)
- Batteries (vehicle and marine)
- Oil
- Paint
- Household hazardous chemicals
Recyclable or Compostable Items
To assist the County with recycling, we request that the following items be brought to the landfill separately, using your own vehicle:
- Brush/yard waste
- Asphalt/black top
- Containers (glass, plastic, tin cans, aluminum)
- Concrete, rock
- Paper/cardboard
